"Run, you little thief!", Phen howled furiously, paws thundering on the barren soil. Her target in this pursuit was a sneaky little scavenger that had managed to chew off a bit of her kill. It was quite a petty cause to go chasing after it, but Phen had very little tolerance for nuisances these days. The thought of a dead coyote hanging from her jaws was a satisfying image which she hoped to achieve.

Despite being a quick-witted creature, it's speed was no match for the she-wolf, and it hardly took any effort to close the distance between them. In the midst of the chase, Phen noticed that the ground began elevating slightly, and her surroundings became increasingly more thick with spruce trees. Something ominous began to loom around her as well, but she paid very little mind to it. With the coyote within her reach, Phen lunged forward once and missed her target. Frustrated, she waited until she had gotten a bit closer and tried again, this time successfully clamping her fangs into the creature's bushy tail. It barked loudly in fear and desperation. Phen went straight for the neck and had it broken in seconds.

Licking blood from her lips, Phen leaned back and took a moment to regain her posture and assess where she was. Turning her head to her right, Phen realized she wasn't as familiar with the area as she had thought. Large evergreen spruce trees towered above her; A welcome change to the mostly-bare forests where she used to reside. Dark mosses and foliage carpeted the ground, and an occasional boulder came into view. A stale but prominent scent lingered in the air, blocking out most other smells. Where am I? Phen wondered silently, already becoming a little uncomfortable. This forest looked noticeably more dense, and a lot darker, and the others.

Willing to investigate, Phen kicked the coyote's limp body aside with her hind leg and proceeded forward, weaving between a couple of young trees and sniffing the ground tentatively. Pine needles made a soft blanket that felt nice to walk on, and Phen found herself getting herself deeper and deeper into this unknown region. She was sure she knew this scent from somewhere, but the realization was just out of her reach. Sighing, she recomposed herself and shook off detritus from her dark, slim neck. Deciding to head back to her kill, Phen made a swift turn and was about to break into a sprint when something snapped in her ear.

Her tail stiffened and Phen dug her long claws into the soil. She knew something, or someone, was close by. But she couldn't calculate where the sound had come from.

Not long ago had he made the decision to isolate Blutwald from the world. He didn't have very many Aces under his control and it seemed as though there were more pups to protect than actual wolves to protect them. It seemed the most logical choice to just completely cut out all communication outside of Blutwald. The rest of the pack would have to learn to like it, for he wouldn't be changing his mind any time soon. He padded through at a slow stalk through the heavy oak forests, Spanish moss brushing against his back. Even though Winter was just around the corner the snow had not yet graced the land. However frost lingered on the dead leaves that laced the area, causing a soft crunching noise to emit from below his massive paws. The Alpha had taken up the liberty of patrolling the entire territory alone 24/7, and only at night would he allow his Aces to take up patrolling duty so that he may rest and spend time with his family. The grand male was determined to keep outsiders where they belonged; outside. No one needed to know what was going on here, it was none of their business.

Suddenly, his senses detected signs of an intrusion, as he came upon a slain coyote beside a fragment of a fresh kill. The scent that covered the dead animal did not coincide with one of his own, and he instantly turned into defensive mode. His ears pointed and his tail leveled out with his body, muscles flexing in such a way to where he radiated dominance. He disappeared into the shadows for the hunt.

No sooner did he stumble upon the coyote did he locate the intruder, a tall and slim black female with some feathers jutting out of her mane. She was frozen, so he had already been detected. But he still lay in the shadows, making his final judgments on the outsider before letting the dark beast that plagued his heart outside of its cage, and his eyes dilated into perfect slits, giving him a monster-like appearance. The eyes that craved death.

In a flash he had propelled himself off of the ground where he hid and slammed into her side, towering over her as she recovered from the shock. His fangs were bared and glistening with saliva as he stared down into her eyes like some kind of beast, unable to be civilized. He said nothing, but immediately began to snap his exposed jaws at her neck, shooting off warning shots.

It felt as if an invisible boulder had rammed itself forcefully into her right side, squeezing the air from her lungs and making her body go immediately into panic-mode. She, and whoever had attacked her, rolled on the ground for a bit before her opponent ended up on top of her, jaws parted to show white, glistening fangs.

“Augh!” she spat as she felt the male wolf’s weight pushing down on her spine, restricting her movement. His scent was overpowering. The next thing she knew, her attacker was making blind strikes at her face, teeth closing in on whatever they could grab. Instinctively, Phen returned fire, trying to aim for the narrow band of bare skin between the wolf’s thick mane while protecting her head from those sharp incisors which occasionally pierced her skin. In the few openings Phen received where she could get a better look at the male, she noted his muscular yet slim frame and narrow muzzle. But it was his crazed expression that really threw her off; His yellow-green pupils had the look of some crazed beast, thirsty for blood. Whoever this stranger was, he was going to kill her if given the chance. She wasn’t going to let that happen.

While the male was busy trying to maul her, Phen curled her hind legs into her belly, trying to get into a solid position. Luckily for her, she had all but memorized the best areas to throw a kick by this point, and Phen immediately felt for the soft dent between the male’s lungs and abdomen. ”Get off, filthy mutt!” she roared loudly before collecting all her strength into her powerful legs, thrusting her claws into his gut. Her other leg pushed firmly against the male’s lungs, successfully throwing him off. Phen scrambled upright, desperate to put distance between her and her opponent.

Phen looked up at the stranger and immediately regretted ever coming into these woods. The black and gold male was big. Not exactly massive, but he was solidly built. Bands of muscles jutted out of his tan pelt, and his tail was held high in dominance. But it was that unrestrained lust that was reflected in his facial features that made her cringe. Who is this male? she wondered with clenched teeth. And what does he want with me? Phen had no time to ask, because she knew the stranger wouldn’t stop his attack until she proved she wasn’t worth the trouble of killing.

”Back off!” Phen’s words were challenging and defensive at the same time. Her next actions would be determined by whether the stranger retaliated or calmed down.

In moments she had switched into defensive mode, and he too also switched his method of attack. She was no ordinary female, she new how to fight. Before he could snarl a response at her, he felt paws press up against his abdomen and he was launched off, landing only a few paces away on his side. But it was enough time for her to put some distance between them, and he shook his mighty mane furiously, standing up slowly as the clouds of steam bellowed out of his slightly ajar jaws, the wild blood lust still prominent in his eyes. He rose to his full glory; head raising proudly as his tail, ears forward, muscles flexed, fur on edge, claws digging into the hardened soil below. Everything about his posture screamed dominance, however the horrid look in his eyes lacked the proper civilized gleam that would make him seem like a normal Alpha. The scars along his left side tightened along his flesh, making them more prominent in his thick fur, visible to all those who dared to stare at his battle marks.

She had an earned authority to her, but she was not in her own land however. And that irked the large golden black male. She was actually unaware who he was, and where she was, and now he was going to make sure she knew never to come back. "Intruder." He hissed, his voice deep and dripping with rich acid. He kept his fangs bared, a low rumbling growl that sounded more like a bear audited from deep within his widespread chest. "You know not where you stand, you unfortunate soul." He snarled, taking a step forward towards her, licking his fangs with the most disturbing grin on his face. He was completely mad.

Chimaerix said the following:

The mysterious wolf’s show of dominance was enough to keep Phen from turning him into an instrument to hone her skills, like she often did with other rogues she encountered. Even she had to admit that he was not someone to be messed with; His left eye was circumscribed with mangled skin, and she couldn’t imagine where someone could possibly end up with the huge, rough scar that draped his shoulder. His thick mane framed his neck, making him look much larger than normal. Phen was torn between high-tailing out of the forest like a wise individual would do, or proceeding to teach this crazy, high-strung peacock a lesson.

Just when Phen thought the male would never speak to her, a single word, threatening and deadly, escaped from his jaws. He continued his speech, but by the time he had finished saying ”intruder”, Phen had already put the pieces together. Was she really blind enough to chase that coyote right into pack territory? Narrowing her eyes, Phen took a deep breath, attempting to analyze the wolf’s scent. As the air traveled to her lungs, a sickening feeling stirred in her stomach. No wonder this place smelled distantly familiar; It was Blutwald’s scent. She had just trespassed in Blutwald territory. But that sickening feeling soon turned into anger, and later into vengeance.

”You”, Phen snarled, finally returning the male’s hostility. ”You’re one of those... crazy Blutwald wolves, aren’t you?” In fact, this wolf seemed even more battle-hungry than the other Blutwaldians she had met in the past. Phen had heard plenty of undesirable things about their inhabitants, but the main tenor she was getting from them was that they were a bunch of bloodthirsty, vicious blockheads. Phen may have been chased out once, but never again. She’d walk out peacefully on her own terms or slaughter one of their kind in the process.

”Fight me, if you must”, she growled, lowering her head, but keeping her tail swishing indecisively. She tried her best to swallow any fear or nervousness caused by simply staring at the muscular stranger. ”But I wish to leave your territory peacefully”. The black and gold male was slowly walking towards her, jaws agape as if she were a piece of juicy prey he was about to devour. Honestly, a peaceful escape didn’t seem very probable with the look the male was giving her. Phen prepared for a spar, already beginning to circle the male so that her back was to a small incline, which would prevent a smaller wolf like her from being pinned down again. Her lips were parted, front teeth exposed like iron spurs, and her silver eyes rested intently on the male. She could as well have told him, bite me, if you dare.

Spicybuns said the following:

He circled with her, the dance of war, the calm before the storm. he did not snarl, but heavy breaths escaped his jaws which hung disturbingly ajar, his wild demonic eyes locked onto her without blinking. He then stopped, narrowing his eyes at her with his tail raised, mouth shut. It was a stand off, and he stood with obvious dominance, as if he earned it by force, for which he did. Finally, after many moments of silence, he finally spoke. "Tell all who you encounter that I will not allow outsiders anywhere near my lands." He paused, taking a few steps towards her with deadly precision, his stance radiating murderous intent. He stopped only a few inches away, and lowered his head so that she could hear him at a whisper. "If I find you again, I will not hesitate to kill." He said slowly, the words rolling off his tongue with such strict pronunciation it was almost terrifying. "Be gone." He hissed, and before she had the chance to respond he reared up onto his hind legs, and smashed down onto the ground before her feet, emanating an ear splitting snarl that sounded more like a roar. "GET OUT!" He snapped, foamed saliva dripping from his lower jaws into the soil. His fur was completely ridged, and at this point he resembled a monster, rather than a wolf. He was ready to take her down if she didn't run at that instant. She was lucky she was a female, otherwise he would have tried to kill her.

Chimaerix said the following:

The tension hovering in the air around the two wolves was so thick it was nearly palpable. Feeling the leaves crunch under her paws with each step, Phen waited with anticipation at what the male would do; Would he lunge, or would he calm down and negotiate? If such a brute male did indeed attack her, there was no chance of her escaping unharmed. Phen equipped her mindset for the worst, already trying to image what it would feel like to have sharp incisors cleaved into her leg.

She nearly let out a sigh of relief when the black and gold male halted, putting their display of ferocity at a standstill. But that relief was short lived as he advanced upon her. Each word that dripped off the stranger’s tongue sounded like that of a crazed beast, deep and hoarse, and for a while she felt like a slave being beaten by it’s master after misbehaving. The male approached her, his strides slow but confident, with the visage of a starving lion. Phen felt the unbearable urge to shrink back and flee with her tail between her legs, but once again, her pride got the better of her. Adrenalin pulsed silently in her body as well, seeping into her muscles and making her vision cloudy with rage.

After what seemed like an eternity playing the game of chicken, the large wolf was so close to her that Phen could feel his sinister breath in her face with every word he spoke. His promises to kill her if she showed up again were painfully sincere; Phen knew that he wasn’t exaggerating. She felt the weight of his presence pressing against her, making her flatten into the ground with her ears folded back along her skull. His face was all she could see now; his cheeks outlined in black fur, the creases of his snarl, his lurid eyes staring death into hers. Suddenly, a collection of realizations dawned on her. That demeanor... that facade... the fact that he acted with such authority in Blutwald territory. A loner’s words echoed through her head.

“He is a Gamma Guard... A large black and gold male, eyes with hidden intentions, oh, and he lusts for blood deep down...” A cackle. “He just doesn't know it yet, but I could see it, oh yes, I could see the monster that wanted to escape”

Her thoughts were interrupted by a savage snarl, and in the next instant the world seemed to tremble beneath her as the stranger’s paws slammed down on the earth. Her rageful countenance disappeared, replaced by a look of awe. It took her a moment to react to his outburst; a few precious seconds that could have resulted in her downfall. ”F-fine”, she growled, immediately scrambling into a more dignified position and bolting in the direction from which she had came. The smell of the dead coyote still lingered in the air. Phen didn’t look back even once, fearful of provoking the furious alpha.

She sprinted. But despite her terrors, a ghost of a smug grin stretched across her face. Yes, she’d spread the word about Blutwald’s isolationism. She’d tell everyone to stay out of Blutwald forest, away from it’s crazy, bloodthirsty Alpha and his equally savage followers. His frightening demeanor was still clear in her memory, his rippling muscles and beast-like behavior. Like a wild equine. ”I'll spread your message, Stallion!” she yelled into the air, his name slipping out naturally. She would never make the mistake of coming here ever again.
Synopsis: Phen accidentally runs into Blutwald territory while chasing away a coyote. Stallion attacks her without warning, and tells her to leave immediately. He also tells her to spread the word that Blutwald is forever closed to loners.

This occured, of course, before Stallion leaves to join his family.
